This Ballyboughal housing project was shortlisted for the 2019 ICE Awards. The project involved the construction of six new two storey semi-detached houses in three blocks. In addition, it included the renewal of two existing detached bungalows. We also provided a new access road, footpaths, parking and all site works. New boundary walls, fences and landscaping were also included.
In response to the client’s brief, we delivered a high spec housing scheme, built to comply with all the necessary building codes. We also ensured the project met all of the aesthetic and functional needs of the client.
The façade with powder coated aluminium bay windows is a unique feature of the houses. The design was also in compliance with all building standards. For instance, the structural, acoustics and insulation values were all met.
There is a lot of history in Ballyboughal. The name means “the town of the staff.” It is a place of natural beauty with a river running through the centre of the village. Because of this, we ensured the Ballyboughal housing blended in with the surrounding landscape.
